Have a look at the new Playstation 3 ads which have leaked out. They feature an amazing amount of detail. Apparently the 2 images both take place in a different game setting/world. Images are click-able and lead to higher resolution versions I found on Flickr.

Black and white old fashioned-ness. Bit like their prices for games!
I’ll stay loyal to my xbox 360.
Anyone remeber the the TV ads for PS2. The dark escapism adverts in black and white and some kid in a hoody. That had a revolutionary feel also.

If these ads alone were enough to make you drop your 360 then Sony would’ve done a really terrific job;)
But you’re right, Sony does like to break new(or at least different) ground with its Playstation advertisements.

I think gamers expect results now from hardware and software before the purchase. The waiting for the actual game footage instead of marketing. Its almost like people have become more technically aware and wise. ” Yes, cool image… but will my chip set burn out and what size of hard drive do I get for my dollar”
