Getting visitors to your site is only half of the equation. It serves no purpose if visitors come to your site, wait until it loads and then instantly browse on to the next thing because your site simply doesn't interest them. You have to get the right type of traffic to your site.

Communities are great for creatives. You get to mingle with people who have the same interests as you, learn from each other, collaborate and it might even lead to opportunities. Another strong point of being on a community is that you're getting yourself "out there". Your exposing your work and yourself.
